Ventura College back-up quarterback Chase Smith guided his team to a come-from-behind, 27-14, win over visiting Pasadena City College on Saturday night.
Smith threw one touchdown pass, rushed for another and led Ventura in rushing with 103 yards on 14 carries.
Ventura completed a 10-0 regular season, its first perfect record in school history.
Smith's touchdown run in the third quarter gave Ventura its first lead of the game, 20-14. The Pirates trailed Pasadena 14-6 in the first half and 14-13 at halftime.
